Exciting Home Reno

Nick and Jemma Jury have embarked on a challenging new home reno! Commenced in mid April 2017, they have indeed come a very long way. “There’s still a lot of work to do” said Nick. “But we have come a very long way!”

The New Family room. This area will soon connect the old and the new part of the home.

Nick and Jemma had a particular look in mind. It needed to harmonise with the existing character of the home. So BRICK GLOSSY was a perfect solution for the bathroom walls. This white brick format tile is 300x100mm. For the floor, Jemma really wanted a dark grey – black. Jemma selected Concept Nero for the floor tile. A lovely concrete inspired matt porcelain tile. There was only thing left to choose. A decorative component for behind the bath tub. For this, they selected a mini hexagonal panel tile called Stone Light Grey Decor, in 600×300.

Nick will add a new roof over this space, creating a functional Alfresco area for the whole family.

Sketches were drawn up to create the design in mind. It had to work. The addition of a ceramic dado was included, because the wall tiling will extent to 1200mm off the floor. Nick wanted the floor tile to extend up the side of the bathtub. He chose to place the shower rose in the meddle of the long feature wall, a move which has paid off.

Nick has a lot of experience in the building game. As a senior Project Manager with Schlager Group, he has a lot of experience in building high end, quality homes.

We will keep you updated, as Nick and Jemma continue down their path.

11th November 2017.

It was a hot spring day when we caught up with Nick again. He was juggling babysitting for Jemma, and the renovation. The bathroom is almost complete. The vanity is the last item to install. “We are all very happy with the tiling, and the the tiler did an excellent job” said Nick. The black fittings really make a statement. Even the floor waste grills are black, so you don’t notice them at all.

Once the bathroom is complete, Nick will connect the new family room, with the existing rooms. That will be a big moment. All of Nick’s hard work will really show, once the old & the new come together.

Before. The bathroom framed and lined ready for tiling.

After. Black & Grey is primary design.

Black Matt fittings add a touch of Sophistication.
